The British military advisory and training team has commenced training for Nigerian military personnel on joint operations planning. The training is said to have become crucial following the identified inadequate cooperation among different military services in the security operations they have to conduct jointly. The British team will share strategy and experiences with the Nigerian military and related security agencies to boost its joint operational planning capabilities. Participants are selected from both the strategic and operational planning personnel of the Army, Navy and Air Force. Beneficiaries are expected to bring the knowledge gained to bear on joint security operations, especially in the Northeast, and the country in general. The training is part of the British government’s support for Nigeria’s fight against insurgency.
