The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N126 billion contracts for twelve roads across the country.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola briefed Radio Nigeria State House Correspondents after the Council meeting presided over by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, at the State House, Abuja.
Mr Fashola said the twelve roads were in Kano, Bauchi, Adamawa, Borno, Kwara, Gombe, Enugu, and Kaduna states and that some of the projects included reconstruction, rehabilitation and bridge construction.
The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole said Council approved a new National Health Policy entitled “promoting the Health of Nigerians to Accelerate Socio-Economic Development.”
On the claim on a cure for HIV/ AIDS by Professor Ezeibe of the Michael Okpara University, Umudike in Abia State, the Minister of Health also gave assurance that at the appropriate time his Ministry would disclose the full report of their findings.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udo Udoma, gave some insight into the immediate execution priorities of the the Economic Recovery Growth Plan to include, agriculture and food security, energy; particularly power and petroleum product sufficiency, industrialization; focusing on small and medium size enterprising.
Others are transportation, which is very important as an infrastructure requirement to get the economy moving as well as stabilization of the micro-economic environment.
