Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) On Procuring Entities

The Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP says it does not award contracts for procuring entities; rather, it reviews the procurement processes of procuring entities to ensure that they are as spelt out in the law.

On recent media reports partaining to contract awards in the ministry of power, works and housing, the bureau explained that the review process is ongoing noting that claims that the exercise been concluded should be ignored.

A statement signed by the bureau’s head of public relations and protocol Thomas Odemwingie made it clear that at the conclusion of its review of requests the bureau will communicate its position to the affected procuring entities.

It restated the bureau’s commitment to ensuring a national procurement system that is transparent, competitive and guarantees value for money in support of the national development efforts of the federal government
