The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to a lecturer at the local government education authority, Doma in Nassarawa state, Umar Ibrahim and three others accused of terrorism.
The three were granted bail in the sum of one million naira each and two sureties in like sum who must own a property in the FCT Abuja.
Justice Binta Nyanko who granted the defendants bail said the bail will last until the federal government deems it fit to file charges against the defendants. The court also directed that if the DSS failed to release them, they should report back to the court.
The ruling followed the inability of the DSS, the director of the security agency and the chief of army staff to show cause why the defendants who were arrested on 28 February 2014 in Doma town should not be admitted to bail or charges filed against.
The three other charged alongside with Umar are Adamu Ojiri, Ali Isa, and Adamu Haruna.
